At the end of January in what is fast becoming tradition, YHA Treyarnon Bay held their winter volunteering week.
Many of the volunteers got familiar with rollers and paintbrushes giving most of the rooms in the hostel a fresh lick of paint and a new lease of life. Others got their gardening gloves out and made the most of the coastal air and sunshine, weeding the garden and trimming hedges.
The highlight of the week was when our two student volunteers, Michelle and Ting, cooked fajitas and green bean curry for all the other volunteers. It fed into the good vibes of the week which were also seen in all of the work and the volunteers feel like a group of friends now. Late in the week most of the group went for a walk together along the coast and every night they could be found in front of the fire with a bottle of ale/glass of wine in hand.
A big thanks to all of them and also the YHA Volunteering Team who helped organise and promote this.
