National Office

YHA’s centre of operations in the heart of Matlock.

Based in Matlock, Derbyshire, our National Office is the centre of YHA operations and the place where many of the organisation’s decisions are made. Our business support teams work behind the scenes, looking after YHA’s strategic direction and helping the charity achieve its aims and objectives.

You might be an expert fundraiser ready to raise money to help young people with challenging lives, or a brilliant marketeer with a brain full of creative ideas to help us reach our business goals.

Our National Office staff are the recruiters, financial managers, graphic designers, IT experts and more. They come from a whole range of backgrounds and specialisms. All our teams support the work we do in hostels (either directly or indirectly) — add your skills to the mix to help us keep moving forward.

Our contact centre is also based at National Office. Here you will find our dedicated teams of customer and specialist group advisors, who are often the first point of contact for YHA’s customers, taking bookings and payments, problem solving and giving advice on places to visit.

Remote and hybrid roles

However, you can never underestimate the value of teamwork in an office environment and we understand that some people prefer not to work at home. There are options to discuss your preferences with your line manager during your interview and onboarding and throughout your time at YHA, as we appreciate that circumstances can change.
