About this team
External Affairs handles corporate communications, public policy, and governance at YHA.
We develop and deliver communications strategies to raise YHA’s profile, engage stakeholders, and ensure consistent messaging across internal and external channels. Internally, this includes webinars, forums, and meetings to keep staff informed. Externally, we work with the press and collaborate with marketing teams on publications and social media.
We represent YHA to government decision-makers, advocating for policies that support our social impact goals. This involves engaging with Ministers, civil servants, and policy networks. We also oversee YHA’s governance, supporting the Board of Trustees and committees, involving staff, and shaping our organisational strategy.
We offer flexible working arrangements – whether you prefer being based at National Office, working remotely or a hybrid approach.
